Garbage Share Potent “No Horses” Video

Emerging from the soundscape that brought about bands like Sonic Youth and Curve, industrial/alternative-rock band Garbage released a new single, “No Horses” last month. Today, we are presented with the song’s video. You can watch it above.
The video starts off with frontwoman Shirley Manson dressed in a Little Red Riding Hood-esque cloak, washing blood off someone’s feet, and just unravels from there—peppered in is footage from riots, uprisings and of course some horses galloping, all while her and the band are trapped in some David Lynch-like red room scenario.
Director Scott Stuckey said of the video:
“It’s been my observation that when governments disregard their citizens for their own greed, the ensuing soundtrack usually kicks ass. Like Nina Simone’s ‘Mississippi Goddam’ or the Clash’s ‘Straight To Hell,’ ‘No Horses’ made me realize that I’m not going insane, these really are fucked up times. The lyrics are powerful so the challenge was to add something visually that wouldn’t ruin the individual’s interpretation.”
