Daily Dose: Navy Gangs, “1alone”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

Brooklyn-via-Omaha indie rockers Navy Gangs fuse jangle pop with classic indie rock to extremely satisfying results. In advance of their debut LP, Poach, Paste included them in our recent list of 15 New York City bands to know in 2018.

New single “1alone” opens amidst eerie atmosphere, before electrifying guitars begin to slash through a hazy melody. “It’s all a mess,” singer Matthew Tillwick admits in the track’s mega-hook chorus. While anxiety and isolation permeate “1alone,” its feel is more akin to a stadium rock sing-a-long. Listen below.

Poach is out Aug. 3 via Modern Sky USA.
