Blending sounds from folk, alternative, pop, and soul Cory Breth crafts a style and sound that truly transcends the traditional castes of genre. Cory, born and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio, has had a passion for singing for as long as he can remember, starting with roles in elementary school musicals and continuing through his senior year of high school. It was during this time that Cory began experimenting with the guitar and honing his skills through casual performances for friends and family. However, it wasn't until Cory attended Bowling Green State University that he realized solo performances were the direction he wanted to take his music. Cory began performing for his classmates in the lounges of the Bowling Green dorms. Dorm shows quickly turned into gigs at local coffee shops and restaurants; the coffee shops and restaurants into music bars and lounges. Cory eventually found himself performing in Troy, Ohio at the Mumford & Sons Gentlemen of the Road Stopover Tour in August of 2013. He has since moved up in the music world, opening for acts such as Edward Sharpe, Kris Allen, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Twenty One Pilots. In late May of 2016, Cory signed with Empire Records - an indie record label based out of Springfield, Ohio. Cory’s passion for sharing his music has fueled his frenetic schedule during the last three years, each opportunity to perform live merely adding more fuel to his already brimming tank. Cory thrives on the opportunity to share his music with others because, as he says, “Music brings people together in a way that no other artistic medium can; it can bring a smile to your lips or tears to your eyes. There’s something to be said, a story to be told.” Cory has recoded two indie albums over the last three years and is currently in the studio working on his third.
