Down the machine are a 4 piece alternative rock band from Leeds (UK). Calling on inspiration from bands such as, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, Down The Machine create a sound that merges elements of Grunge, Nu-Metal and Industrial Rock genres. Down The Machine create a dark, brooding, yet seamless sound containing real energy both in the studio and at live shows. Driven by front man & songwriter Steve Wilson, Down The Machinereleased their debut single Losing Faith in June 2010, with their album following in August. They were instantly championed by BBC Radio Leeds and highly praised by many rock zines. The band signed with Ambicon Records late 2010 and their following ‘Let You In’ EP release gained much support from radio stations across the UK, US plus many other countries. Down The Machine have a fans in countries as far apart as Canada, Australia and New Zealand! Active on the North East gig circuit and building a loyal fan base in the region. Down The Machines have played numerous prestigious gigs and festivals including ‘Bomfest’, ‘Bingley Music Festival’ and ‘Leeds Festival’. Their follow up single ‘Know Your Place’ released on 10th Oct 2011 showcases one of the bands most promising creations to date and continues to further catapult the band into new heights of interest, recognisition and credibility. Having played a recent sold out show in York and getting booked as the main support for US band ‘Reverence’ on the UK leg of their upcoming tour, 2013 should be an exciting time for Down The Machine who have proven they have the skills, potential and ambition to continue moving from strength to strength.
