Chicago native, Yohan is a bona fide singer’s singer.

Born with natural ability, Yohan made his debut (as many of the vocalist we love have) at the age of 5 in church. With the church standing to its feet, Yohan felt and understood the power of music and the great gift he had been given. Over the years, Yohan has refined his gospel roots with classical training into a contemporary R&B style that is all his own – the Yohan Experience. The Experience is ELECTRIC, MAGNETIC, thoroughly ENTERTAINING and filled with intentional LOVE ENERGY, which has won him a legion of loyal fans amongst audiences and fellow artists.

"Music is the Universal Language of Love & Freedom" - Yohan

Yohan’s musical influences are the great legends of Rhythm & Blues and soul singers such as James Brown, Otis Redding, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz. Anchored in the belief that music is the universal language of love and freedom, Yohan puts his all into each performance and song he sings. His latest singles “Get Down” and “You Got Me” speak solely to his ability to lyrically take real life situations and put them to soul stirring music infused with his love for funk, rock and pop. Yohan is poised to take his music and his craft to the next level with The Yohan Experience where his love for music, performance and people converge.

MESSAGE BEHIND THE MUSIC: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

The forthcoming Portia Ann Stevenson Foundation (PASF), founded by Yohan in honor of his dear mother will operate under the mission and belief “that a healthy body cannot operate without a healthy mind and spirit.” The Portia Ann Stevenson Foundation will actively work to support programs and community-based organizations that focus on those living with mental illness. PASF will collaborate with mental health professionals and members of the arts and entertainment communities to utilize the creative process, and the resulting artwork to explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.
