The school’s website still features an emergency alert for the shooting and, according to the site, the threat “has been neutralized.” Students have already been evacuated by school officials and taken home by parents.
Based on available data, this appears to be the first U.S. school shooting of 2017, though not the first mass shooting of the year, as there have been at least 90, per the Gun Violence Archive.
