Colin Kaepernick Is Set to Release a New Memoir in 2020
Audible will be collaborating on an audiobook version
Photo by Paula Marotta/GettyColin Kaepernick announced on Thursday, Feb. 13, that he will be publishing a memoir via his own publishing company, Kaepernick Publishing, in 2020.
In a statement, the activist and former NFL star says, “My protest was the culmination of years of thought and experiences, of learning and unlearning. I want to tell the story of my evolution, and the events that led me to protest systemic oppression, in hopes that it will inspire others to rise in action.”

Kaepernick has also inked a deal with Audible, which will release an audio version of his memoir and is set to collaborate with him on future projects. “I am excited that through this groundbreaking partnership between Kaepernick Publishing and Audible, we can elevate Black and Brown voices who can empower future generations,” Kaepernick adds.
His book, which is currently untitled, is described as “part political awakening and part memoir.” The book is set to be released in 2020 via Kaepernick Publishing and in partnership with Melcher Media. Two Rivers Distribution will distribute the work.
