Celebrate Halloween Right With Three Mignolaverse Cover Debuts
Main Art by Laurence Campbell & Dave Stewart
Few comic creators perpetuate a year-round vibe of spookiness quite like Mike Mignola, the legendary creator of Hellboy and its various spinoffs, as well as standalone stories like Baltimore and Joe Golem. With that spirit in mind, what better way to kick off Halloween than with a triple-decker debut of upcoming covers from the “Mignolaverse,” the affectionate nickname given by fans to Mignola’s sprawling comic empire. While Mignola himself didn’t illustrate any of these horror-tinged beauties, Dave Palumbo, Tonci Zonjic and Laurence Campbell all uphold the high standards set by the master himself. Take an exclusive first peek at the Dark Horse Comics’ covers and solicits for Joe Golem: Occult Detective Vol. 3, Crimson Lotus Vol. 1 and B.P.R.D.: The Devil You Know Vol. 3 below, and be sure to check out our chat between Mignola and Geof Darrow if you somehow missed it last week.

What truly lurks in the Outer Dark?
A chilling new adventure unfolds as Joe Golem investigates the kidnapping of a Conjurer and the strange men who took him. Aided by the victim’s ward, a spunky teenage girl, the detective soon finds that otherworldly forces are at work. The only way to stop the madman behind the kidnapping and occult activities is to locate a strange object known as Lector’s Pentajulum. But how can they locate it, who else is trying to track it down, and how can it save both them and the city?
