Dark Horse Announces New Detective Comic, Wyrd

On Friday, Dark Horse announced Wyrd, a new comic from Curt Pires, Antonio Fuso and Stefano Simeone, per THR. Described as James Bond meets The X-Files, Wyrd follows Pitor Wyrd, a private detective who is seemingly immortal. Though Wyrd is the supernatural arm of the law, THR’s description hints that he’s only in it for himself.

Not many details about Wyrd are available at this point, though it does mark Pires’ first new series since The Forevers. Fuso, who will be drawing the book, carved out a name for himself in Black Mask’s Survival Fetish and Aftershock’s Clan Killers, while colorist Stefano Simeone makes his way over from The Walt Disney Company. Micah Myers will lend his lettering talents to the mix.

This four-issue miniseries arrives on shelves on Jan. 30, 2019, with variant covers from all-stars Jeff Lemire, Rafel Albuquerque, Gabriele Dell’Otto and Danijel Zezelj. Lemire’s issue one variant is out in the wild—and exactly as cool as you’d think it would be. See for yourself below.
