6 Cocktails for National Rum Month

Did you know that August is National Rum Month? We just found out,luckily just in time to do a little celebrating before the month comes to an end.

Rum is one of the sweetest spirits out there, and it makes us dream of long walks on the beach and sitting by the pool, both things we’re not going to be able to do when autumn finally kicks in over the next few weeks.

Hold on to the last few days of summer, and celebrate one of our favorite spirits with one of these fantastic rum cocktails from around the world.

Beyond Good & Evil
Sense Beach House

Ingredients
1.5 oz Bacardi Silver Rum
.75 oz Triple Sec
2 Jalapeños
1 Lime
Passion Fruit
Ice

Directions: Mix all liquid ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes. Then pour into a Mason jar drinking glass. Add in some jalapeños for an extra kick and garnish with lime.


Miami Club Mojito

Ingredients

6-8 mint leaves
4 lime wedges
1 ½ oz Miami club rum
¼ oz simple syrup
Splash of coconut puree
Splash of club soda

Directions: Muddle the mint leaves and lime wedges into a tall glass. Add other ingredients and stir. Insert one stick of fresh sugar cane

Ingredients
2 oz. Havana Club rum
1 oz. Solerno blood orange liqeur
splash of Tahitian vanilla
pineapple juice
orange peel

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well with ice. Serve in a martini glass with an orange peel garnish.


Rum Island

Ingredients
1/2 oz. Bacardi Coco
1/2 oz. Bacardi Dragonberry
1/2 oz. Bacardi Apple
1/2 oz. Bacardi Lemon
2 oz. sour
2 oz. cranberry juice

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a cherry.


Sugar Island Hurricane

Ingredients
2 parts Sugar Island Coconut Rum
2 parts Sugar Island Spiced Rum
2 parts passion fruit juice
1 part orange juice
Juice of half a lime
½ part Crown Maple Syrup Medium Amber Maple Syrup
½ part grenadine
Orange slice and cherry for garnish

Directions: Combine all ingredients into a tall glass and stir with ice. Garnish with orange slice and cherry.



Summer Salvation

Ingredients
2 parts Sugar Island Coconut Rum
½ part fresh lime juice
Splash of Tres Agaves Cocktail Ready Agave Nectar
Splash of ginger ale

Directions: Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a glass and top off with the ginger ale. Garnish with lime wheels and raspberries.
