Dive into Anton Yelchin’s Heartbreaking Story with Love, Antosha Trailer

With a premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, Love, Antosha details the life and heartbreaking death of actor Anton Yelchin.

Yelchin is best-known for his roles in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek franchise, but also had a prominent career in indie films such as Like Crazy and Green Room. The actor died in June 2016 due to a freak accident involving his own Jeep, and the 2017 film Thoroughbreds (which was released after his death) marks his last film.

Instead of focusing too much on his death, the trailer for Love, Antosha, which is set to release in theaters Aug. 2, is a fitting ode to Yelchin’s life and everything he did in his 27 years. Told through Yelchin’s journals, videos, photography and interviews with friends, family and co-stars, the documentary is a behind-the-scenes view of an actor who was considered one of the best leading men in Hollywood.

The trailer shows interviews with many of Yelchin’s past co-stars, including Kristen Stewart, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Willem Dafoe, Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pine. Diving deeper than his acting roles, the documentary showcases the multiple eccentric hobbies Yelchin had and sees all the interviewees reminiscing on the actor whose life was taken too soon.
