Olivia Wilde to Direct New Psychological Thriller Don’t Worry, Darling

Following the success of this year’s acclaimed Booksmart, Olivia Wilde is becoming a highly sought-after director. According to Variety, Wilde is now attached to produce and direct a new film titled Don’t Worry, Darling.

While Booksmart was a charming teen comedy, Don’t Worry, Darling is set to take Wilde to the world of ‘50s psychological thrillers and focus on an unhappy housewife. Katie Silberman is rewriting a script originally penned by Shane and Carey Van Dyke, while Roy Lee and Jon Berg of Vertigo are slated to produce.

Wilde is currently working on Clint Eastwood’s The Ballad of Richard Jewell, likely pushing the production start date for Don’t Worry, Darling until the end of the year. Little else is known about the film, but it’s reportedly being targeted by several studios and streaming services.
