Isla Fisher Hints at a Possible Wedding Crashers Sequel
Images via New Line CinemaComedy sequels can be hit or miss—sometimes they’re Zoolander 2, sometimes they’re 22 Jump Street. With sequels, only one thing is certain: they are everywhere. The latest film to fall victim to this trend is apparently 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers, which may soon be getting a sequel of its own.
Isla Fisher, who is currently promoting her new film Nocturnal Animals, was on Today when she let the news slip. “I bumped into Vince Vaughn at a party and he said that apparently we’re going to be making a sequel,” Fisher explained. “So I’m really excited to see what happened to Gloria.”
Fisher played Gloria, the unbalanced, yet bubbly nymphomaniac in the first installment, but explained that nothing was confirmed yet. “I shouldn’t really announce it on morning television,” said Fisher. “But apparently there’s some talk of it, which is fun.”
Wedding Crashers was directed by David Dobkin, written by Steve Faver and Bo Fischer, and starred Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as a pair of friends who crashed weddings to bed women. The original wrapped up fairly nicely in its final moments, so it’s unclear what a sequel would track. Perhaps they can crash college parties and crossover with the Neighbors franchise.
