Leonard Cohen’s Manager Says the Artist Passed Away Peacefully in His Sleep

News of legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen’s death came as a shock last Thursday, but until now, no information about how the artist died had been released.

In a post on Cohencentric, Cohen’s manager Robert Kory addressed questions about Cohen’s death, saying, “Leonard Cohen died during his sleep following a fall in the middle of the night on Nov. 7. The death was sudden, unexpected, and peaceful.”

Kory also noted, ”[Cohen] is survived by his children Adam and Lorca, and his three grandchildren Cassius (Adam’s son), and Viva and Lyon (Lorca’s daughter and son).” Cohen’s son Adam recently shared a moving eulogy letter dedicated to his father.

Cohen passed away on Nov. 7, but the news wasn’t released until Thursday, Nov. 10, giving his family time to mourn privately.
