In anticipation of his new album out this Friday, June 10, singer-songwriter Tom Odell premiered a music video for “Concrete.”
Odell’s forthcoming LP, Wrong Crowd, is a follow-up to the English musician’s 2013 debut album, Long Way Down.
“Concrete” is a soulful tune with bluesy swagger. Odell shows off his easy falsetto in the beginning, yet his vocals pack a punch as the song grows more powerful.
This song was one of the first songs Odell wrote from Wrong Crowd, according to the Wall Street Journal, who premiered the video. Odell was inspired by the soul of Al Green as well as the funk of Prince.
