LOWLANDS have been compared to such diverse groups as Wilco, Whiskeytown, Soul Asylum and Green On Red. “Roots on the inside and Grunge on the outside” a reviewer once wrote. A powerful and eclectic mix of violin, electric & acoustic guitars, piano, accordion, pounding drums and bass, LOWLANDS broke onto the European roots rock scene in 2008 and have since released 3 albums “The Last Call” (9/10 Americana UK and a Top 10 seller for Miles of Music), “EP Vol.1”. (***** from Music Review Unsigned) & “Gypsy Child” (**** R2). This acoustic showcase (a direct feed of what was broadcast live by the good folk at BRFM) was recorded in Bryn Mawr, just oustide of Newport last spring during their UK tour. Featuring Edward Abbiati on Lead Vocals and Acoustic Guitar, Francesco Bonfiglio on accordion, Roberto Diana on acoustic guitar and slide and Chiara Giacobbe on violin and backing vocals. Their new album “Beyond” will be released in spring.
