For fans of:Uncle Tupelo, Old 97's, Son Volt, Bottle Rockets, The Ass Ponys

The Rotary Prophets are a roots-rock band based in Somerville MA. Powered primarily by the evocative story songs and narratives of singer-songwriter John Maloney, along with song contributions from keyboardist Ted Collins and lead guitarist Damon Vrettos, the Rotary Prophets have quickly emerged as powerful and unique voice within the Boston music scene. The band's sound falls somewhere between the alt-country of Uncle Tupelo and the americana of The Band, yet strongly influenced by rockabilly, blues, power-pop and classic rock.

Featuring past and current members of the bands Monophonic, Lorntell, The Rationales, The Rapid Shave, Autumn Hollow, Dearborn Valley, Powderhouse, Up From The Sky and The Silver Lining, the Rotary Prophets first came together in the fall of 2012 and played its first gig at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge MA in January, 2013. They have already shared the stage with top local acts like Glenn Yoder, The Rationales, Autum Hollow, Airport, the Summer Villians, Bryan Pero, New Million Box, The Longwalls, Brendan Boogie, Powderhouse and Nate Leavitt.

The Rotary Prophets released a 5 song EP entitled "faith • lost • love" on Sept. 17. 2013. Shortly thereafter, the song "American Dream" from that album was voted in to the Top 5 local songs on WZLX's (100.7FM) "Boston Emissions". Most recently, the band was featured on New England Cable News (NECN) and was selected to play the Boston edition of the 2013 International Pop Overthrow Festival. The band will continue to play shows throughout the Northeast to promote the new album.
