Castlevania Returns to Netflix for Season 3 in March

Beware, mere mortals: Netflix has revealed their excellent Castlevania adaptation’s Season 3 premiere date, March 5, offering viewers an appropriately “bloody valentine” in the form of an epic date announcement teaser, which you can watch down below.

Paste’s Jim Vorel has contended that Castlevania, created by Warren Ellis and based on Konami’s long-running videogame franchise, became the best videogame adaptation of all time in its second season. When it comes to Season 3, the sky’s the limit. Executive producer Adi Shankar has already called the show’s shot, tweeting upon its Season 3 renewal, “Mark my words—With Season 3 we’re going after that EMMY.”

No word yet on Castlevania’s Season 3 episode count or plot—the latter is, of course, the much larger question mark after the seismic events of Season 2—but we’ll keep you posted on the new season in the coming weeks.

Watch Netflix’s badass date announce teaser below, but be wary of major spoilers if you’re not caught up. The clip, overflowing with “bloody chaos,” certainly seems to portend an ambitious, game-changing new season of the series.
