Ariel Pink Addresses “Gross” Onstage Behavior
Photo by Michael Buckner/GettyAriel Pink isn’t exactly known for decorum. During a recent show in San Francisco, he apparently offended a few concert-goers after he took his onstage antics a little too far. A user on Reddit described the theatrics, which entailed Pink drunkenly manhandling his girlfriend and bandmate Charlotte Ercoli:
“He kept grabbing her like a piece of meat, grabbed her ankle and wouldn’t let her go, attempting to push her into the crowd which she was clearly uncomfortable with, and the most offensive scene was when he literally pinned her down to the stage and got on top of her in a very assault-y fashion. He didn’t help her up and when she got up she looked dazed and was rubbing the back of her head, and after the song ended said, ‘That was inappropriate.’”
Because of the backlash, Pink took to Twitter to address and apologize for his behavior, explaining that his drunkenness caused him to overdo everything and that he tried to tone down his “theatrics” in his following shows. “Sometimes I alienate when I should aim to inspire,” he said, continuing, “I’m tone deaf and not sensitive enough to the real plight of women these days. My behavior onstage was gross and I can’t defend it.” Find his tweets below.

Although, Pink couldn’t defend his behavior, it didn’t stop Ercoli from trying:
I’m his girlfriend can everyone stop being so sensitive about this we were just having fun

Wow. Turns out a girl can’t have fun with her boyfriend on stage without being victimized by feminists. Could not be more bummed.
