George R.R. Martin’s The Winds of Winter Gets Amazon France Page with Supposed Release Date
Image via Amazon.frWith rumors and speculation running amok every week about when The Winds of Winter, the sixth book in George R. R. Martin’s epic A Song of Ice and Fire series, will be out, a big bombshell was supposedly uncovered earlier this week.
An Amazon France page for the book went live with a release date of March 9, 2017.
Sound the alarms, everybody, mark your calendars, praise the Seven!
But maybe not so fast. Shortly after the Amazon page was found and fans started getting into a frenzy, Martin’s U.K. publisher, HarperCollins, said, “Nothing has been finalised regarding the publication or the date,” something fans have been told time and time again in the five years since A Dance With Dragons was published in 2011. Amazon often creates placeholder pages for forthcoming works, with this not even being the first time this has happened with The Winds of Winter, so it’s not unusual to see a placeholder date, either.
So, we’ll have to go back to patiently waiting again, subsisting on whatever scraps (like this Arianne Martell chapter, for instance) Martin can offer us. But to look on the bright side, since Game of Thrones season seven was delayed, Martin has even more time to finish The Winds of Winter before the show spoils more of it.
