Rick and Morty Did It: McDonald’s Is Bringing Back Szechuan Sauce For One Day Only

It seems that Rick Sanchez’s series arc is coming to an early end, and it didn’t even take nine seasons: McDonald’s is officially bringing that Mulan McNugget sauce back to Earth Dimension C-137, if only for an extremely limited time.

That’s right: The fast-food chain, though playing coy about the sauce’s return’s direct connection to Rick and Morty, is bringing back Szechuan sauce on Saturday, Oct. 7, at select locations, starting at 2 p.m. local time. Quantities are limited, so keep your portal gun handy, because you’ll need to move quickly if you want that sauce.

The Szechuan sauce, which originally debuted in 1998 as a tie-in with Disney’s Mulan, is being revived as part of McDonald’s’ push to promote their new buttermilk crispy chicken tenders, which plenty of Rick and Morty fans are sure to be sampling come this weekend. Be advised that the Szechuan sauce is only available for dine-in eaters—no drive-thru—with the purchase of a four, six, or ten-piece order of buttermilk crispy tenders.
