Bat For Lashes Announces New Album The Bride, Out In July

Music News Bat for Lashes

The concept project upon which Bat For Lashes has been working for the past two years is finally nearing actualization, as the singer announced today that her album The Bride will be released on Jul. 1. The LP, inspired by a short film Bat For Lashes wrote and directed entitled I Do, tells the story of a would-be bride whose fiancée is killed in a car crash on the way to their wedding, after which she embarks on what would have been her honeymoon alone and reflects upon the swirling emotions she’s feeling.

The album, which Bat For Lashes conceived as the soundtrack to a feature film, was created over a period of 18 months and recorded in Woodstock, N.Y. with producer Simon Felice. Its second single, “In God’s House,” was released today alongside the announcement of The Bride’s release date. Check it out below, and then keep scrolling for a list of select tour dates wherein The Bride will be performed in churches (with audience members invited to wear wedding attire).
