George Harrison Estate Not Happy About Trump Campaign’s Use of “Here Comes the Sun”
Image via YouTubeJust days after Melania plagiarized Michelle Obama’s speech, the Trump clan has landed in hot water once again for using something without permission.
This time, however, it’s George Harrison’s classic tune “Here Comes The Sun.” The Beatles song, originally released on Abbey Road, was played as background music during Ivanka Trump’s introduction speech at the Republican National Convention last night.
The George Harrison estate has since took to Twitter to vent, saying the use of the song was “unauthorized,” “offensive,” and “against the wishes of the George Harrison estate.” In a second tweet they quipped, “If it had been ‘Beware of Darkness,’ then we may have approved it!”
The unauthorized use of #HereComestheSun at the #RNCinCLE is offensive & against the wishes of the George Harrison estate.
