Knxwledge Drops New Single “Do You,” with Album to Follow in Spring

The three-minute instrumental track comforts listeners with solid bass layered with strong piano chords that build up to a curious sound that explores the newly empty space. There aren’t any lyrics, so we’re free to nod along to the triumphant, repetitive beat until we’re interrupted by a man talking about the slogan that made his tape iconic. His friends were so chill, and we were too, because we were totally there. The sample blends into a slower soulful beat that inspires that cringe-worthy scowl people do when they grind to R&B.
The influential beatmaker is signed to Stones Throw Records, and he’s written for rappers including Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt and Joey Bada$$. It’s been over three years since his last solo project, 2016’s Buttrskotch, and fans are thirsty for more. They’ll get it this spring—stay tuned for further details on the album.
