Watch Rosalía’s Music Video for Her New Track “Juro Que”

Thursday, Spanish Flamenco-pop singer Rosalía released a new track, “Juro Que” (which translates to “I Swear That”), along with a lushly colored music video featuring Elite actor Omar Ayuso.

The song chronicles a lovesick woman’s devastation at her lover being behind bars, with a two-way mirror/window separating Rosalía from Ayuso. The song is a classic exploration of flamenco and pop from the artist, featuring rhythmic clapping and acoustic guitar coupled with slick studio vocals.

The music video itself is almost Almodóvarian, which is fitting considering that Rosalía had a singing cameo alongside Penélope Cruz in the renowned Spanish director’s recent film Pain and Glory. Her outfits and acrylic nails are seamlessly color-coded in shades of pink, yellow and then red, juxtaposed by vibrant green, red and blue hues that overtake the room in which she sits.

On the other side of the glass is Ayuso, who wears a stark white outfit in a dreary prison cell and dons a solid gold band-aid on the bridge of his nose. They press their hands and bodies against the glass, longing to reunite once again.

Rosalía is up for two Grammys this weekend, including Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album and Best New Artist (which would be the first time a Spanish-dominant singer would win the award).
