Canada Becomes an Ice Rink for All

Canada’s response to the freezing rain this Winter has proven to be particularly resourceful.

Frozen streets are being turned into ice rinks for skaters to enjoy. The recent freezing rain storm in Ontario brought an inch of ice with it, covering the city and causing quite a traffic conflict. While local news encouraged people to stay inside, many adventurers took to the icy streets and had some winter fun. Wearing boots still requires careful footing to avoid slipping, however, ice skates turned the frozen ground into afternoons of fun.

Environment Canada warns citizens of the icy roads, as many car accidents have already
occurred. The Ottawa region and the area surrounding Toronto airport has reported particularly perilous road conditions.

What can we learn from this? Canadians know how to make the best of winter weather.
