McDonald’s Opens World’s First Monopoly Hotel

Finally, a Monopoly experience that won’t make you flip the table or ruin a friendship.

McDonald’s has created a pop-up hotel modeled after the Monopoly game which is located in Melbourne, Australia, and its one of the smallest hotels in the world.

Measuring less than 8 feet by 10 feet, this hotel was unveiled in Federation Square on Sept 7.

Continuing with the game board’s color scheme the interior space is the iconic bright red which is brought to life with “Go to Jail” and “Free Parking” posters on the walls.

“Monopoly is one of those quintessential family board games, we’ve all got fond memories of playing it, so we wanted to bring it to life in a unique way,” said Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald’s Australia, Jenni Dill.

The mini hotel was built to celebrate the return of the company’s Monopoly game in Australia. Emma Kendrick and Laura Paton were the two lucky winners who won a night’s stay in the rouge hotel to mark the celebration and were greeted by the one and only Mr. Monopoly character.

Whether you relate more to the iron, the shoe or even the thimble, we all can agree this hotel brings the game board to life.
