Henry Winkler Joins Cast of Bill Hader HBO Comedy

TV News Bill Hader

Here at Paste, we were already pretty psyched for a Bill Hader HBO comedy about a sad hitman named Barry. But with the addition of Henry Winkler as an acting teacher named Gene Cousineau (excellent name), we’re officially ready to lobby the premium network to sign a 10-season deal. Barry, which at this point is only a pilot-in-the-making, follows the titular hitman and ex-marine to Los Angeles, where he’s on the job. But even though he’s supposed to be a merciless killer, he’s disaffected and depressed with his life. When he finds an “accepting community” of aspiring actors in the local theater scene, things change. Alec Berg, executive producer of Silicon Valley, is co-writing and producing with Hader.

If Gene Cousineau is half as great as Barry Zuckerkorn, I think we’re all going to be very, very happy with this news.
