Adam Driver Says Fate of Kylo Ren Will Be “Unexpected”

The fate of Kylo Ren was as ambiguous as it gets in The Force Awakens. Rey almost finished him off, but thanks to an earthquake caused by the destruction of the Starkiller Base, Kylo escaped the battle with his life. In an interview with the Today Show, Adam Driver teases the “unexpected” fate of his character in The Last Jedi, which he believes fans will be “happy” with.

As Leia and Han’s dark sided son, it can be assumed that Kylo might redeem himself in a Darth Vader-like manner. Though he did kill his own father, he appears to be at constant war with himself and his decision to side with the First Order. On the other hand, he might meet a deservedly grim fate at the hands of Rey or another protagonist.

We’ll have to wait until the Dec. 15 release of The Last Jedi to find out. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for the full trailer, which is expected to drop any day. Watch the teaser trailer here.
