Trump Retweeted a Racist, Sexist and Homophobic Extremist … Again

On Monday, Trump retweeted a user known as “Maga Gold Hat NRA Aka Goldy,” who consistently tweets racist, homophobic, Islamophobic and sexist views.

The tweet that Trump retweeted seemed harmless if you didn’t know who @MagaGoldHat was:

At first glance, it appears Trump is just spreading the word about his son’s upcoming event in Orlando with Ron DeSantis. However, with just one click on the account, violent and hate-filled attacks slap you in the face. First of all, the MAGA in his handle stands, of course, for “Make America Great Again,” Trump’s campaign slogan. The Twitter user seems to be a major Trump fanboy whose views fall under the extremist category. In the past, MagaGoldHat has referred to Michelle Obama as “a tranny,” a derogatory term used to insult transgender people. He consistently refers to President Barack Obama as a Muslim, a conspiracy theory that Trump loves to spread. He has referred to Muslims as rapists, demanded that Trump torture Hillary Clinton and Obama, used homophobic slurs and bragged that “white voters control this country.”

MagaGoldHat has repeatedly begged Trump to follow him back, replying to Trump’s tweets with “please follow back.” While Trump has yet to follow him back, he did promote his account with the retweet. On Thursday, MagaGoldHat thanked Trump on Twitter for his retweet:

This isn’t the first time Trump has promoted Twitter accounts that have racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic and even violent commentary. MagaGoldHat is just the most recent extremist that Trump has associated himself with on Twitter while he spreads conspiracy theories and lies to his followers. A few other notable instances include when he retweeted anti-Muslim videos, the time he retweeted, then deleted an image of a train running over a CNN reporter, three days after a woman was killed at Charlottesville rally when a neo-Nazi drove his car into the crowd, as well as that time Trump tweeted a doctored video that made it look like he hit a golf ball at Hillary Clinton and knocked her down.
