The Social Assassin Is Back in Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Season Nine Trailer

Curb Your Enthusiasm is back, baby, and though we didn’t need a trailer to tell us this, Larry David is still the best—by which we mean the worst—in the reanimated HBO comedy’s ninth season, set to debut in just a few weeks.

The “social assassin” has fewer fucks to give than ever in the above clip, which is really saying something. L.D. yoohoos a judge, silences a grieving woman during a funeral, confronts his assistant for missing work on account of constipation, and shoves a perfume saleswoman off her feet and into next week … and that’s just the first half of the trailer.

As if seeing a semi-fictionalized Larry David behaving horribly again wasn’t enough of a treat in itself, the clip also includes appearances from Sleater-Kinney and Portlandia’s Carrie Brownstein as Larry’s afflicted assistant, and Seinfeld alum Bryan Cranston as his therapist. Heaven help them.

In addition to Brownstein and Cranston, season nine’s guest stars include Elizabeth Banks, Ed Begley, Jr., Lauren Graham, Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Offerman, Nasim Pedrad and Elizabeth Perkins. And the show’s entire core cast is returning, including Cheryl Hines, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.
