The Ghostbusters Casts Collide on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live was devoted entirely to ghosts and the people who bust them. The scheduled guests were Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, aka the cast of the new Ghostbusters movie, but it wasn’t long before the original paranormal exterminators crashed the set. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts (RIP Harold Ramis) shared the stage with the new crew before sitting down for their own interview with Kimmel. In one of the biggest recommendations a comedian can get, the new cast gets the stamp of approval from Bill Murray, who infamously refused to ever make another Ghostbusters movie after the first disappointing sequel. You’d think a thumb’s up from a guy who’s not just a comedy legend but one of the most beloved actors in the history of filmed entertainment would silence some of the criticism of the (still unreleased) new movie, but never underestimate the pure blinding rage of internet nerd entitlement. We’ve embedded a few segments from the show below, including the new cast discussing the ridiculous online anger over the new movie, and you can find more at the Jimmy Kimmel Live Youtube page.
