Now KFC Is Making Fried Chicken Crocs Because Sure, Why Not

Honestly, if Kentucky Fried Chicken was expecting more than an exasperated shrug from people for its latest publicity stunt, it should acknowledge that kookiness does in fact have diminishing returns. I shudder to think what KFC would actually have to do to shock me at this point. Frying up actual human beings, perhaps? That would be suitably jaw-dropping. But chicken-scented shoes? That’s just a Thursday at KFC, baby.

So yeah, that’s today’s headline—KFC has teamed up with Crocs to create “KFC X Crocs Bucket Clog,” a limited edition shoe that both looks and smells like a bucket of KFC’s signature fried chicken. The collaboration was announced via a video starring South Korean influencer MLMA, looking in the photoshoot like her face might have gotten a bit too close to the fryer.

“Combining the unmistakable look of our world-famous fried chicken and signature KFC bucket, with the unparalleled comfort and style of Crocs, these shoes are what fried chicken footwear dreams are made of,” said KFC CMO Andrea Zahumensky in a news release that might as well have ended “so please for the love of god write about this.”

One of the major draws of the shoes are the chicken-scented “Jibbitz™ charms” (whatever the hell this is) attached to each clog, which I must admit look literally just like a small piece of chicken attached to your foot. You know, if you wanted that sort of thing.

These KFC shoes are available this spring, via the official Crocs website, in unisex sizes. They cost $59.99, plus whatever dignity you can scrape together.
