Watch Stephen Colbert Investigate Trump’s “Pee Pee Tape” Hotel Room in Moscow

As one of Donald Trump’s most prominent enemies, Stephen Colbert has an obligation to the American public to keep pushing the president closer to insanity with segments that undermine his character and manhood. One of Trump’s worst publicity gaffes was the infamous pee pee tape, which we think may have been confirmed as being legit in Donald Trump Jr.’s emails. Despite its popularity, no one has gone to the room where the events supposedly took place; until, as Colbert notes, “There was one man brave enough to go to Moscow and check it out.” That man, of course, was Colbert himself.

During his trip to Russia, Colbert met with Russian surveillance expert Andrei Soldatov, who didn’t provide many new details regarding the incident but did confirm what Americans already speculated: Trump hired two Russian prostitutes to pee on the bed in the presidential suite of Moscow’s Ritz Carlton (room 1101, as Colbert discovered) because the Obamas had once stayed in that room.

After he slid the key into room 1101’s door, Colbert entered an absolutely massive ten-room suite decorated with grand pianos and lavish furniture, which he detailed in his MTV’s Cribs-style video earlier in the week. “When you’re in this room—I don’t know how to describe it—it’s soaked in history. It just washes over you,” he explains. As he and Soldatov pondered whether the Russian government could have bugged the room, Colbert noticed that the Kremlin was quite literally directly across the street. “They don’t need to install cameras in here. They could just give Putin some binoculars,” Colbert notes.

He also took time to jump on the bed and shout, “Pee pee tape!” repeatedly, which, if you’re being completely honest with yourself, is exactly what you would’ve done. He concluded his investigation with a black light examination of the bed but unfortunately found no evidence of Trump’s escapades.

Watch the clip above, and revisit Colbert’s previous tour of the room below.
