YouTube Rounds Up 2016 with The Rock, Trevor Noah, PewDiePie

For all of its turbulence, 2016 certainly had its fair share of viral content. That content was the subject of YouTube’s annual year in review video, which took a look back at some of the biggest videos and stories of 2016.

The video starts with The Rock, complete with a fanny-pack, saying “Let’s do this,” before it devolves into a full-fledged recap of the year. The Olympics are referenced, as are Lemonade and Carpool Karaoke. James Corden, Trevor Noah, Seth Meyers, PewDiePie and a host of other YouTube personalities also make appearances.

The top-trending video of the year was Adele’s Carpool Karaoke, which has garnered more than 135 million views to date. The top music video was Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home,” which is featured prominently on the soundtrack for the year in review.
