In the latest inevitable superhero movie news, Fox announced today that a sequel to Deadpool is officially happening, according to The Wrap. Ryan Reynolds is going to return as the Merc with the Mouth (obviously) and Tim Miller is back to direct (less obvious, but still predictable). Plot is unannounced, but Deadpool himself did say that he’d be meeting up with time-traveling X-Man Cable in the first film’s post-credits scene.
Just because a Deadpool sequel was a lock given the original’s success, though, doesn’t make us any less excited. We’ll have more to come as this story develops.
