New York City’s Spring Studios Opening the LIFE Magazine Exhibition to the Public
Image via BFATriBeCa’s Spring Studios in New York City has premiered The Gallery@Spring, an exhibition with more than 50 photographs from LIFE Magazine between 1940 and 1970. The exhibition opened on June 16 and will remain open through Aug. 30.
The photographs, taken from LIFE Magazine’s archives, depict how fashion has evolved over time. Photos include shots of celebrities, like Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando and Audrey Hepburn, and of life in New York City. It also includes Alfred Eisenstaedt’s iconic photo, “V.J. Day; The gallery, consisting of mostly black-and-white photos, also features photography from three of the four original LIFE photographers.
The LIFE Photo Exhibition was created with help from Time Inc.’s LIFE archive and curated by director of SilverLake Photography Eleonora Flammini and photographer Javier Sirvent.
It will be open to the public on July 22-24 and July 29-30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Spring Studios, 50 Varick Street in NYC. Find more details here.
