Beyond Frosé: 3 Frozen Wine Slushies You Can Make at Home

By now, you’ve probably heard of Frosé, the magical creation you get when you blend together frozen rosé and fruit, but a lot of other wines can also be great in frozen form. Just ask celebrity caterer Andrea Correale, the founder and president of Elegant Affairs. She’s thrown parties for folks like Brooke Shields, Mariah Carey, Jimmy Fallon and Liam Neeson, so you know she knows how to throw a good one.
Here are a few of her suggestions for frozen cocktails to get into this summer:
Frozen Chardonnay Sangria
Ingredients:
1 bottle of Chardonnay
1 ice cube tray
1 cup of watermelon pieces
2 cups of frozen strawberries
2 shots of triple sec or orange liqueur
Directions: Pour Chardonnay into ice cube tray and place in a blender. Add watermelon, frozen strawberries, and triple sec/orange liqueur. Pulse until you reach a slushy consistency and serve!
Frozen Red Wine Slushy
Ingredients:
1 ice cube tray
Red wine
Frozen blackberries
Orange liqueur
Directions: Pour Red wine into ice cube trays and freeze.Take wine cubes out of ice tray and place into a blender. Add a handful of frozen blackberries and a splash of orange liqueur. Pulse until you reach a slushy consistency and serve!
And if you really just want some Frozen Rosé…
Frozen Rosé
Ingredients:
1 bottle of Rosé
3 ounces of pink grapefruit juice
1 cup of simple syrup
2 cups of stem-less strawberries
Directions: Pour bottle of Rosé into a sturdy container and freeze for 8 hours. Put frozen Rosé in a blender with the pink grapefruit juice, simple syrup and strawberries. Pulse until you reach a slushy consistency and serve!
