In the trailer, seven strangers, each with their own dirty secrets—played by a star-studded ensemble including Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, Nick Offerman and a mustachioed Chris Hemsworth as a possible cult leader—on one fateful day check into the El Royale, a hotel on the California-Nevada border with its own shady past.
It’s still not entirely clear what this is all about, but the new trailer doubles down on the teaser’s kitschy, ‘70s Americana vibe, still-mysterious plot twists, and gratuitous shots of Hemsworth’s shirtless torso. With a number of familiar names in play, we can only guess who’ll come out the victor of a check-in to the El Royale.
