Charlie Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg Starring in 9/11 Drama

Hollywood loves mining American tragedy for Oscar gold, with today’s announcement of Nine Eleven serving as a prime example.

Charlie Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg star in the Martin Guigui-helmed movie about five people stuck in an elevator in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Luis Guzman, Wood Harris and Olga Fonda have also been cast, Variety reports.

Goldberg has gone on record as dismissing 9/11 conspiracy theories as “insane.” Sheen, on the other hand, has a long history of…err, looking at the tragedy from a different perspective. Should be interesting to see whose beliefs come out on top.
