National Treasure 3 Not Happening Soon Says Nick Cage

It’s been nine years since he cracked open The Book of Secrets and more than a decade since he stole the Declaration of Independence. So when will Benjamin Franklin Gates (aka Nicholas Cage) set out on his next all American adventure?

According to a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, not any time soon.

“I haven’t really heard anything about that,” said Cage, who is currently promoting his new non-National Treasure movie The Trust.

Apparently, the script writers are having trouble penetrating through cold, hard facts. “I do know that those scripts are very difficult to write, because there has to be some credibility in terms of the facts and fact-checking, because it was relying on historical events. And then you have to make it entertaining,” said Cage.

At this rate, our next potential president could certainly help with the whole “making it up as you go” thing.
