King Krule, the stage name of British musician/songwriter Archie Marshall, releases the second single from his forthcoming album, Man Alive!, along with a stylish music video. The track, “Alone, Omen 3,” was actually previously debuted through the artist’s short film Hey World!, which was released in November 2019.
The music video for “Alone, Omen 3” was directed by Marshall’s close friend and collaborator Jocelyn Anquetil, who also co-wrote the song. It features Marshall and his friends, collaborators and bandmates gathered around him, then has Marshall embark alone through a house of mirrors—perhaps illustrating that while one can have people surrounding them, loneliness can still persist.
“I felt like I had gotten out of a dark place, and I was on a high,” said Marshall of the inspiration behind the song. “I appreciated the depression … but I also liked how I felt better in the here and now.”
