After 10 Years, New Outkast Music Might Be On the Way
Photos by Karl Walter, Frank Micelotta/GettyCould it be that, after ten long years, the beloved hip-hop duo known as Outkast are releasing a new album? According to a Snapchat post from recently resurgent rapper Gucci Mane, that answer could be a “Yes.”
In a string of Snapchat videos recently posted from the Atlanta rapper’s account, he mentions musical acts he has just finished working with: “I just did a record for Outkast. I just did a record for Wayne. I just did a record for Boosie … ”
See for yourself below.

It sounds like the rapper is featured on a forthcoming track from the potential new album, although, of course, nothing has been confirmed. Outkast’s last album, Idlewild, was released in 2006, but the duo reunited in 2014 for a series of concert dates in honor of their 20th anniversary.
Though Outkast have not released new music in a decade, Andre 3000 and Big Boi have both been working on solo pursuits. Last month, Big Boi announced plans for an EP in collaboration with rapper Killer Mike, and Andre 3000 has most recently been featured on Frank Ocean’s new album, Blonde.
Hopefully Gucci Mane is not pulling our collective leg. A decade is a long time, but maybe the dry spell is over. In the meantime, check out one of the iconic duo’s most well-known songs below.
