As for his creative processes, Killer Mike snickered, “I’m just smoking weed, eating ‘shrooms, watching Big Trouble in Little China everyday.”
Run the Jewels 3 is expected to drop this year and according to Mike, this is an ambitious installment that will be “harder, darker, meaner, and angrier” than anything we’ve heard by them before.
When asked how the Jewels will trump the features on the previous RTJ albums, including heavy-hitters Big Boi and Zack De La Rocha, he responded that they have one big feature in mind. He didn’t drop any hints as to who this artist might be, obscuring his answer with, “Music transcends genre.”
Killer Mike believes in the power of a shorter, ten-to-twelve track album, so we can foresee that part three of the RTJ series will have a succinct quality that is zany, but more than capable of touching our souls.
