Daily Dose: Superorganism, “Everybody Wants to Be Famous”

Daily Dose is your daily source for the song you absolutely, positively need to hear every day. Curated by the Paste Music Team.

UK-based pop collective Superorganism congealed in 2017 with a handful of promising singles, including debut “Something for Your M.I.N.D.,” an itchy mashup of guitar, samples, synths, and…apples. The group made their American live debut right here at the Paste Studio in New York, where they stripped down their wobbly sound, but kept the apples.

On Wednesday, the group revealed the details of their full-length debut, which is scheduled for a March 2 release on Domino, and dropped another single, “Everybody Wants to Be Famous,” along with a video. The song sticks with the formula we’ve come to know: casual vocals, elastic tones, ambient sounds and a matter-of-fact chorus that sends up the idea of over-trying, but which in this case could prove prophetic. Check it out the video below, and find tour dates here.
