About the Book

Set in first century Judea against the backdrop of the Roman Empire, The Money Changer addresses contemporary themes and conflicts. Religion, lust, politics and sexual politics are woven into the experiences of the main characters, who struggle with the pursuit of wealth, the nature of good and evil, and the price of redemption. At the center of the story is a woman who disturbs the delicate balance between the power of men and the power of money. Although the book is fiction, the purpose of the novel is to reach an audience who is hungry for the truth of the Gospel, and its power to transform lives.

Any tips received during December 2019 will be donated to the Hub Ministry to the homeless in Shreveport, LA. This is a non-profit Christ-centered organization.

About the Author

When I am not writing or working as a secretary, I am a full time caregiver for my husband, David, who is a traumatic brain injury survivor. This keeps my days pretty full, but I also enjoy time with my terrific kids and grandkids. I like to cook and be outdoors. But I don’t really like to cook outdoors, which is kind of funny, right? One of my hobbies is fencing, a sport we picked up after David’s brain injury as a type of unconventional therapy to help him with balance and strength. Surprisingly, he’s really good at it, and I enjoy fencing as well.

Around age eleven, I accompanied my parents on a trip to the Middle East and we traveled to Egypt, Israel, Greece and Cyprus. Two of my favorite memories from Egypt are riding a camel out to the pyramids and traveling down the Nile in a sailboat. My favorite memories from Israel are spending the night in a kibbutz and eating fresh oranges in the ancient city of Jericho. That trip was quite an adventure for a young girl, and many of those memories came back to me as I was writing this book.

My first book, A Door of Hope, is a collection of devotions based on scriptures in the Old and New Testament. That book is available on Amazon if you want to check it out. Also, you can find me on Facebook at Supper on the Shelf, a crazy cooking show my husband and I do together.
