Better Day is DownTown Mystic's 1st new album release since the critically acclaimed Rock'n'Roll Romantic in 2016. Better Day features the ace rhythm section from Ian Hunter's Rant Band—drummer Steve Holley and bassist Paul Page, who play on 7 of the 10 album tracks. Frequent DownTown Mystic collaborator Bruce Engler plays on nearly half of the tracks and co-wrote 2 of the songs, One More Chance and Read The Signs, as well as having his own song One Step Closer covered on the album.

The song Better Day sets the positive tone for the rest of the album. DownTown Mystic Writer/Producer Robert Allen comments, "I wanted the album to have an overall positive vibe and Better Day was the perfect song to build on. I'm a big Tom Petty fan and as a nod to him the track features a 12-string Rickenbacker guitar that he made a trademark of his sound. I purposely created the instrumental break as an homage to Tom and his memory."

"Robert Allen (and hence DownTown Mystic) is one of the finest independent rock'n'roll singer-songwriters we've ever been privileged to hear."
  Jamsphere Magazine

"DownTown Mystic is determined to bring back vintage jams from the 50s, 60s and 70s back into the mainstream. Essentially our rock'n'roll guru, DownTown Mystic takes us along a rich journey down rock'n'roll memory lane, and we couldn't help to be pleased with the adventure."
  Modern Neon Media

"Robert Allen aka DownTown Mystic, took those old school influences that were planted in his musical soul, tended them with reverence, pollinated them with some fresh melodies and produced a tasty crop of tunes."
