My name is Jason.
I’m married to my best friend and will be until one of us dies. We’ve been through good times, bad times, and everything in between and I wouldn’t trade my friendship with my wife for anything in this world.
As of July 2013, I am the proud father of a beautiful little girl. People have been telling me for the longest time that when you have a child, everything changes. Well, it does.
I am a big sports fan. I like watching football, football (soccer for you muggles), basketball, golf, sometimes baseball. I can pretty much veg out and watch any sport except for NASCAR (I shouldn’t have to explain why NASCAR is unwatchable).
I have two dogs that I typically loathe but I do appreciate them enough to keep the gate closed and locked FWIW.
My friends are the best friends in the world. My friends are the worst friends in the world. No, wait. That’s me. I’m the worst friend in the world. I’m working on it, okay?
When it comes to family, I have found that blood truly is thicker than water, which I’ve only recently been made aware means the opposite of what you think it means. Family is who you choose it to be, be it by blood or not. The older I get, the more I find peace in the “not.”
I’m a big music fan. Any kind. I try to find inspiration from all of it. I play guitar. I sing. I write.
I’m trying to be a kinder person.
I’ve made a ton of mistakes and I’ve hurt a lot of people in some pretty major ways. Big ways. Life-changing ways. But I’m still here because people love me.
I like to think of life as a journey full of ongoing issues that we either live with, resolve, or embrace.
Some of these issues are physical, some are mental, and some are spiritual.
I write because it’s the best way that I’ve found to sort through these many issues. Tackling these issues is sometimes frustrating but almost always cathartic. I get personal and I try to be as honest and transparent as I can. After all, folks can tell when you’re full of shit.
