The Man Who Was Never Wrong: Trump Deletes Tweets Supporting Alabama Senate Loser
Photo courtesy of GettyHere’s the American politics question of the day: Why bother reckoning with history when you can just erase it?
Donald Trump has spent the last few months supporting Senator Luther Strange, the Alabama Republican who took over Jeff Sessions’ vacant seat and did battle last night with Roy Moore, a gun-totin’ ten-commandment-monument-protectin’ uber-Trump trying to outflank him from the right. This is Alabama in the age of Trump, so the far-right guy won, embarrassing Trump by essentially out-Trumping him.
So what about all those tweets supporting Luther Strange?
POOF!

All gone, baby! Were they ever there in the first place??
Trump pivoted to praising Moore and making excuses for Strange this morning:
Congratulations to Roy Moore on his Republican Primary win in Alabama. Luther Strange started way back & ran a good race. Roy, WIN in Dec!

There will probably be a poll out by the weekend showing that 96% of Trump supporters believe he never supported Strange in the first place.
