The Joe Biden Gaffe of the Day: Contrasting “Poor Kids” With “White Kids”
Photo by Alex Wong/GettyGood morning. It’s a new day in America, and that means it’s time for your JOE BIDEN GAFFE for Friday, Aug. 8. In this installment, Joe Biden visits Iowa on Thursday night and proceeds to tell the audience that “poor kids” are just as capable as “white kids”:
Joe Biden slip-up in Iowa tonight.
“Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”
Yikes…have fun mitigating that one. pic.twitter.com/m2VxZbnFHF

These are the kinds of gaffes Biden is known for, and it can be interpreted in a couple ways—either it means nothing, if you’re an optimist, or it was a slip of the tongue that neatly reveals his mindset, which is that “poor = not white.” If only we had some evidence of whether or not he’s had trouble with racial issues in the past. Hmmm. Anyway, it’s great to have a candidate who constantly needs to explain himself.
Biden continues to lead in every poll, and neither the endless gaffe-train nor his stumbling debate performances have eroded that lead much, if at all. Which means that as of today, less than six months out from the Iowa caucuses, this guy is the most likely person to represent the Democratic party against Donald Trump.
For what it’s worth, here was your runner-up for today:
